Title:  Associate Manager, Category Strategy

Advance your career as an Associate Manager, Category Strategy with Kellogg's Plant Based Protein business, where we care about and celebrate your success.  In this exciting role you will be leading the execution of category strategies through assortment and shelving insights and ensuring alignment across multiple customer teams with a primary focus on Albertsons Company (ACI).  As an integral part of the KUSA category team, you will be responsible for proactively initiating Category Management activities, developing innovative solutions based on consumer insights and building the customer partnership through best in class insight delivery.  You will enable Kellogg to become an indispensable partner to the customer - all while building your expertise and network.

 

Note: This role supports the Veggie part of the Kellogg business, which is on a transformation journey to become a standalone company by the end of 2023.  This is a Battle Creek, MI based opportunity.

 

This role takes part in Locate for Your Day, Kellogg’s hybrid way of working that empowers office-based employees to, in partnership with their managers, find a balance between working from home and the office. Candidates must live in one the following states to qualify for this role: CA, CO, IL, KY, MI, MN, NJ, NC, and OH. 

 

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Business Analytics – Knowing your business is imperative to driving business results.  You will identify business insights through robust analytics of the category, consumer, shopper, market and customer information.  Your analytical skills will serve you well as you develop compelling and profitable business building recommendations both internally and with customers. As you develop compelling and profitable business building recommendations, influencing the customers’ decision-making process using fact-based, clearly communicated solutions will be mutually beneficial.
  • Customer Interaction – This position will involve a high degree of customer interaction.  As a trusted business consultant you will provide objective category reviews that strive to achieve mutually beneficial sales and market share goals. You will prepare the team for customer calls and promote a customer-centered culture that strives to exceed customer needs, requirements, and expectations.
  • Strategic Partnerships – You will partner with the account teams, with a primary focus on Albertson’s/Safeway to broaden the understanding of the shopper, consumer and retailer and help to close the sale. 
  • Project Management – Your project management skills will be key in leading and supporting customer specific initiatives designed to deliver category growth.  You will present projects around product and placement, leveraging tools and resources to identify solutions addressing the shopper problem to solve.  Finally, executional plans – seeing an initiative completed as planned is a driver to success.

 

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

 

  • High School diploma/GED
  • High level analytical capability
  • Robust shopper and consumer insight experience and exposure
  • High proficiency in using syndicated data (i.e. Nielsen, IRI), loyalty card data and shopper panel metrics
  • Assimilating and interpreting data from multiple disparate data sources into concise action oriented recommendations
  • Strong presentation, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Proficiency in JDA, Apollo or Spaceman space planning software
