Title:  Global Sustainability Business Partner


As the Global Sustainability Business Partner for Sustainable Agriculture, you will build and implement comprehensive sustainable agriculture strategy for Kellogg worldwide as both subject matter expert and key influencer, understanding end to end business implications. You will lead the development and recommendations on greenhouse gas, soil health, and farmer livelihoods throughout the supply chain. You will provide leadership and execution oversight for Kellogg’s Origins programs and row crop continuous improvement. You will provide technical and strategic guidance to brand teams and customers for activation and investment, including claims verification and industry standards/ expectations. You will create content and consults for internal and external communications as subject matter expert. 


This role can be located in a number of locations: U.S. (Battle Creek, MI & Naperville, IL), Querétaro – Mexico, Dublin – Ireland and Manchester – UK, Bucharest




Global Sustainability Strategy Development: Develop, lead, and execute comprehensive global sustainable sourcing strategies for supply chain performance in greenhouse gas (scope 3 emissions), soil health, and farmer livelihoods. Implement holistic strategies considering financial, growth, operational, and business strategy implications. Lead global responsible sourcing strategy progress in line with Kellogg’s Better Days global purpose platform and corporate ESG priorities. Align corporate goals and strategies with emerging industry expectations and innovations. Identify and close gaps in Kellogg’s responsible sourcing and climate strategies, designing work streams to provide Kellogg with analysis, strategic insights, and recommendations.


Responsible Sourcing Program Leadership and Management: Lead the program development, management and analysis of Kellogg’s global responsible sourcing programs for priority ingredients, including direct investment in farm programs and continuous improvement initiatives for row crop commodities. Negotiate key elements of partnerships for project viability and sustainability. Build strategic and technical capabilities with Responsible Sourcing staff across regional procurement teams, connecting them with tools, trainings, and industry forums. Advise regional Procurement teams, including Responsible Sourcing and Category Managers, on material sustainability issues for priority ingredient categories, supporting category strategy development and supplier engagement. Advise development of time-bound work plans for ingredient RS categories to meet Kellogg sustainability commitments, while meeting commercial requirements. Lead the Kellogg Grower Survey Platform management.


Commercial Activation: Provide technical and strategic guidance to brand teams and customers for activations to sustainable agriculture and Kellogg’s investment in supporting farmers. Identify potential brand or customer partners for new and evolving Kellogg’s Origins programs. Pitch claims territories for commercial activation to Wellbeing brand leads and align brand/category sustainability opportunities with corporate Better Days commitments to supporting farmers and workers and greenhouse gas reduction.


External Representation & Communication: Build and review content for annual Global Responsible Sourcing Milestones reports, formalizing ESG results from responsible sourcing / sustainable agriculture programs against Kellogg’s global sustainability commitments, to support external sustainability reporting. Write original content for video scripts, internal and external blogs, news releases, and other external assets across a variety of external communications channels. Lead strategic digital communications partnerships to set communications strategy and goals for KNA Origins programs. Design and deliver communications trainings to Kellogg team members, including Procurement and Customer teams. Kellogg’s responsible sourcing programs in external fora and promotional videos. Manage data, reporting, and third-party endorsement regarding agriculture and ingredients in industry sustainability/ESG surveys. Monitor ESG progress relative to peers and customers and support performance rankings in third-party ESG platforms.


Knowledge Sharing and Capability Building: Lead Kellogg’s participation in industry groups, working groups and roundtables, bringing outside learning into the organization. Lead internal and external global reporting on Kellogg’s responsible sourcing and sustainable agriculture programs. Develop, lead and execute training events on sustainability/responsible sourcing strategies, programs, and risks for colleagues, building internal capability across Procurement, Corporate Affairs, Wellbeing, Brand, and Sales teams.




  • Bachelors Degree with Sustainability, Environmental Science or related field preferred (i.e. Food Systems and Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Business, Environmental Engineering) plus 8+ years of industry experience (corporate, NGO, regulatory, etc.). 
  • Familiarity with industry standards, tools, metrics, and partners for multiple sustainability topic areas.
  • Technical proficiency with relevant standards for sustainability and corporate target-setting and disclosure. Examples include the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), CDP, the Science Based Targets Initiative, the WRI/WBCSD Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
  • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated track record in leading or supporting cross-functional sustainability initiatives in a supply chain setting, as well as data collection, cleaning, insights, and submission processes for annual corporate ESG/CSR reporting cycles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills. Strong business acumen, including an understanding of what it takes to influence and drive successful, strategic decisions in a business environment.
  • A strategic mindset that values effective execution, linking day-to-day processes and tasks with a long-term vision for the sustainable agriculture elements of business strategy.
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships with all levels of management within the Kellogg Company and across external stakeholders, leading through influence and shared accountability
