Title:  Senior Attorney, Advertising and Marketing


As a Senior Attorney, Advertising and Marketing at Kellogg’s, you will engage collaboratively to enable the business as a subject matter expert providing advice and legal counsel on marketing and advertising law and regulation.  The role can be based out of Chicago, IL or Battle Creek, MI and will work on a hybrid, in office and work from home model.

You’ll engage in a variety of tasks, including helping develop engaging consumer promotional materials and packaging and reviewing advertising copy. Using your talent for building collaborative relationships, you’ll successfully partner with marketing, nutrition, consumer affairs, corporate communications, and others to drive our company’s continued success.   • Providing Broad-Ranging Legal Advice – Leverage your legal expertise to provide legal advice to partners across the business as you review, draft, and negotiate agreements and provide day to day advice on marketing, advertising and claims issues.
  • Issue Resolution – Assist with investigations and resolutions of compliance issues, including responding to challenges from competitors, governmental agencies, or other self-regulatory authorities regarding product claims, comparative advertising, and other advertising practices.
  • Reviewing Exciting Programs – Work directly with our creative marketing, nutrition, and communications teams as they develop exciting consumer packaging, programs, initiatives, and materials. With your owner’s mindset, you’ll play a key role in shaping contests and promotions that showcase our brands and engage our consumers.
  • Bring the Outside, In – Keeping up on emerging trends, you’ll monitor and track new Federal Register Notices as well as key issues arising out of relevant federal and state agencies, addition to self-regulatory agencies including the FDA, USDA, FTC, NAD, CARU, etc.  Updating and advising the appropriate company personnel of any potential impact on the company’s business.


Your Recipe for Success



  • Juris Doctorate and licensed attorney
  • 4 + years of experience in advertising, promotion, and/or contract law
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced heavy work volume environment with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively participate as a member of a team and communicate and interact with the business
