Title:  Associate Manager, Category Strategy - Away From Home


The Associate Manager, Category Management of the Away From Home organization is an integral part of the Sales Excellence team. Based in Chicago, IL you will engage with sales and their customers, providing support, direction, and recommendations to Commercial Strategy and Sales. Ensuring they have the ability to accomplish customer objectives, execute category strategies and drive sales. In addition, you will help develop and support all internal category strategy tools, KPIs, and LOS/POG. Our success is shaped by you!




  • Communication and Collaboration - With a solid understanding of our customers’ needs and expectations, develop and communicate category insights based on segment/customer-specific objectives and sales goals.  Provide segment/customer-specific recommendations to assortment and strategy Identity drivers of performance across categories and segments to support segment strategy and growth. Two scoops of communication and collaboration are key ingredients in your recipe for success.
  • Analysis and Insights - Analyze data to identify opportunities and gaps by key customers, segments, and categories in terms of distribution expansion and/or pricing elements. Craft robust fact-based selling stories utilizing NPD SupplyTrack, Tibersoft, and other sources. Deliver gap analysis relative to our competitors, customer demand and work with Commercial Strategy and Sales to identify new segment and customer opportunities.
  • Development and Refinement of Category Strategy Tools – Your expertise is the key in the development and updating of internal strategy tools such as distribution trackers, innovation performance trackers, and internal sales reports, and gold standard assortment reports. Build segment profiles per our goals, creating a pipeline of opportunities (target list), and provide insights on strategy execution.




  • Strong analytical, high level of results orientation, idea leadership, time management, and organizational skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with syndicated databases (IRI, SAP, NPD, Technomic, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills to consistently drive operational efficiencies 
  • Available for moderate travel (25%)


Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an area such as Marketing related field.  A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Consumer Packaged Goods experience
