Title:  Engineer, KDC Labor Management

Description: 

Join us as the Kellogg Distribution Center Labor Management Engineer where you will be responsible for assisting the DTS leadership team, KDC Managers, and 3PLs design, implement, and maintain the Kellogg DC labor management tools and processes. It’s about communication and collaboration! You will be focused on working across the KDC network to define and standardize processes, identify optimization opportunities, and model processes/work activities within the labor management tools. Through these activities, you will become an expert in the Kellogg’s KDC processes, WMS, and labor management tools, configuring the systems, leading labor management process training, providing go-live support, and ensuring operational compliance to network standard programs.

 

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Develop network standard work methods by conducting process observations within the KDC operations, reviewing SOP’s, and interviewing operational personnel.
  • Work with 3PLs to collect engineering data used in Labor Management implementations through a variety of techniques including direct observation, pre-determined time study, Time Study (TS), and review of documentation such as SOP’s and CAD drawings. Work with 3PLs to develop Engineered Labor Standards (ELS) using Master Standard Data (MSD) and Time Study (TS). Provide 3PLs training and project go-live support
  • Conduct ELS validation/audit observations of KDC associates in their working environment to ensure accuracy of the observed times within +/- 5%.
  • Initially configure and provide ongoing maintenance of the Labor Management Software (LMS) application implemented at the KDCs
  • Develop and continually improve network-wide programs that leverage LMS data to incent on going productivity improvement within the KDC operations

Required:

  • Ability to develop deep working relationships focused on common goals and continuous improvement within the DTS team, the KDC leadership team, and our 3PL providers.
  • Reads and interprets documents such as operating instructions and procedure manuals. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Routinely writes detailed process documentation, reports, and correspondence.
  • Routinely speaks effectively before groups including DTS leadership, KDC managers, and 3PL leadership
  • Routinely solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
  • Ability to use influencing skills to drive continuous improvement of processes, operational results, and financial metrics

 

Bonus Points:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or other related field
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively across audiences
