  • Payroll General Leger Operations – manage the General Ledger operations of the payroll department providing critical information as it relates to our payroll general ledger postings and budgeted information assuring that we meet all weekly and monthly posting deadlines.  Drive successful/accurate month end closing for all related payroll journal entries.  
  • Partner with Peer stakeholders – you will work across the organization with key stakeholders in global mobility to assure correct and accurate information.  Supports the Benefits area in calculating and coordinating with outside stakeholders regarding Non-Qualified pension calculations as required.    
  • Foreign Service Employees – responsible for all tracking and posting intercompany charges while assuring that US payroll records are accurate and complete at year end and that all taxes and charges are represented accurately and to the correct country.  You will also be responsible for tracking these intercompany charges in the Kellogg portal every month for chargeback to the appropriate country.   
  • Budget – maintain the payroll department budget and has the responsibility for making sure that we are maintaining our zero based budget strategy.  The ability to meet multiple deadlines on a daily/weekly basis are critical to the success of this role.   




  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce Payroll module or a similar HRIS System


 Planning and Prioritization

  • Ability to plan and meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make critical decisions based on financial/compliance knowledge base
  • Ability to respond to time sensitive financial correspondence using compliance/financial best practice

Deliver Results

  • Achieve assigned period quarterly and annual critical deadlines
  • Works with a high level of accuracy
  • Effectively leverage industry/financial knowledge to maintain best practice processes in all areas of responsibility
  • Financial insight and Analysis
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial information as it relates to financial reporting, general ledger activities and Foreign service employee reporting
  • Ability to maintain account ledgers to show accurate reporting in regards to payments and liabilities for Kellogg payroll activities   
  • Establish good accounting practices and support the Kellogg finance model and 404 controls
  • Develop solid reconciliation processes that support month end/year end reporting of all payroll activity including foreign service and non-qualified pension reporting  


  • Ability to communicate across the organization regarding issues of high importance and sensitive material
  • Ability to maintain confidential and highly sensitive information regarding employee records
  • Ability to communicate with outside stakeholders including legal, Global Mobility, Bucharest, and E & Y services group
  • Ability to assist financial stakeholders in relation to general ledger inquiries, requests for change in financial reporting
