Title:  Labor and Employee Relations Advisor

As a Labor and Employee Relations Advisor, you will play key role in Human Resources Department at the Grand Rapids Michigan Plant: working to drive employee engagement and playing a key role in employee accountability. You will also interface with the Plant Staff including Supervisors, Managers, Generalist/Schedulers and Hourly employees as appropriate. Excited for what lies ahead?


  • Set the Pace - You'll drive the overall management of Employee Relations activities for the plant including: Recruiting/Staffing initiatives, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, Kellogg Work Systems (KWS), assisting in employee investigations, issuance of employee discipline and promoting and expanding positive employee relationships on-site.
  • Collaboration is Key - You'll serve as liaison between Site HR Manager, Kellogg North America Manufacturing Business Unit HRBP and Global Business Services (GBS) as appropriate.
  • Fresh Thinking - You'll partner with front line supervisors in HR policy, conflict resolution, relationship building, employee/labor relations, etc. which will require a high level of discretion and independent operation.
  • Tools for Success - Driving manager and employee adoption of HR technology, service delivery model and programs. Redirects HR inquiries to the most efficient and effective resource (technology, service center, etc.)
  • Agility - You'll assist with other HR Generalist activities not defined including employee engagement activities, crew scheduling, labor relations meetings, grievance resolution, etc.



  • High school diploma with significant manufacturing or similar experience
  • Experience in the Human Resources field
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Data analytic skills
  • Flexible working hours

Bonus Points:

  • Associate's degree in HR or a related field
  • General knowledge of food industry and manufacturing practices
  • Proven history of successful people management
  • Experience using Kronos
  • Experience working in a union environment
