Title:  Maintenance Electrician, 2nd or 3rd Shift


Do you have an electric charge and spark for fixing things? Join us at our Grand Rapids Bakery as an Electrician where we make millions of Pop-Tarts every day. You will be partnering with Operations, Quality Food Safety, and Environmental Health and Safety personnel as a key collaborator solving problems on all things electrical! You will be working with a fun, energetic, and talented team. We are looking for a “Sparky” to join the team! Let’s ohm, amp, watt and volt to it! 


For a limited time, we are offering a $7,500 Retention Bonus for new employees (restrictions and reimbursement agreement terms apply)!


2nd Shift: 3pm-11pm

3rd Shift: 11pm-7am




  • Maintaining Equipment and Amplifying Your PLC Knowledge - You will be constantly alternating in between troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and on the spot machine repair. You will need a firm focus and understanding of programmable logic controllers. This person must be creative in their solutions with being clear in their documentation, electric upgrades, and modification improvements.
  • Analyzing Conditions and Providing Solutions - Identifying and examining production equipment failures to understand root cause analysis, with the help of interpreting schematics and drawings. Investigating, repairing electrical systems & mechanical systems while working with PLC’s programming.
  • Prioritizing Innovation and Communication - Actively seeking ways to improve plant efficiency and identifying cost saving opportunities. All while maintaining an open dialogue with the Maintenance Supervisor regarding day-to-day activities and working side by side with Maintenance Mechanics.

  • High School diploma or GED
  • State/Local Electrical License OR Electrical Journey Card (or will have Journeyman’s Card at time of hire) 
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavior-based safety systems
  • Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and / or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Employee will be required to occasionally lift up to 50lbs


Bonus Points:

  • PLC experience
  • Previous experience working in a food manufacturing plant
  • Positive electric charge and a love for Pop-Tarts
