Advance your career as an Associate Manager, Category Management supporting our Albertson’s national Plant Based Protein business.  We are looking for top talent in remote locations; including but not limited to Battle Creek, MI, Chicago, IL, Cincinnati, OH, Grand Rapids, MI, Philadelphia, PA and Rogers, AR.  In this exciting role you will be focused on providing assortment and shelving insights to Albertson’s Corporate HQ team.  By executing category strategies, in alignment with customer priorities, you will help Kellogg become an indispensable partner to the customer.  You will also be responsible for proactively initiating Category Management activities, developing innovative solutions based on consumer insights and account knowledge and building the customer partnership through alignment and best in class insight delivery.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

 

  • Unlock Insights Through Data & Analytics – Knowing your business is imperative to driving business results.  You will be responsible for supporting Category Management activities with the customer and will help to identify business insights leveraging robust analytics of the category, consumer, shopper, market, and customer information.  As you develop compelling and profitable business building recommendations, influencing the customers’ decision-making process using fact-based, clearly communicated solutions will be mutually beneficial.
  • Bring Occasion-Based Category Vision to Life – This position will involve internal and external customer interaction.  As a trusted business consultant, you will assist in delivering objective category reviews and strategies that strive to achieve mutually beneficial sales and market share goals. You will prepare the team for customer calls and promote a customer-centered culture that strives to exceed customer needs, requirements, and expectations.
  • Build Fact-Based, Measurable and Holistic Plans – Your project management skills will be key in supporting strategic customer specific initiatives designed to deliver category growth.  You will support the presentation of projects around product and placement, leveraging tools and resources to identify solutions addressing the shopper problem to solve.  Finally, executional plans – seeing an initiative completed as planned is a driver to success.

 

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

 

Required:

 

  • Industry experience (i.e., Category Management, Shopper/Consumer Insights and/or sales experience) – ideally Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
  • Proficiency in using syndicated data (i.e., Nielsen, IRI), loyalty card data and shopper panel metrics
  • Nimble ability to assimilate and interpret large amounts of data from multiple disparate data sources into concise action-oriented recommendations
  • Ability to draw conclusions, address key opportunities, understand and apply market research tools to create selling stories
  • Strong presentation, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Motor vehicle history with 2 or less moving violations within the last 36 months

 

Bonus Points:

 

  • BA/BS Degree
  • CPG related experience
  • Experience with Symphony Retail AI (EYC)
  • Development and application of advanced analytics, principles, theories and concepts in category management or shopper insights research
  • Proficiency in JDA, Apollo or Spaceman space planning software

 

WHAT’S NEXT

 

 

This is a remote position. The ideal candidate will travel up to 25% of the time to Albertson’s HQ in Boise, ID or other US locations.

 

  • A flexible work schedule and the ability to travel up to 25% of the time. 
  • This position provides participation in the Kellogg Auto Reimbursement program for individuals driving at least 5,000 business miles annually.
