Title: Lead Engineer- Compute and Virtualization
As a Lead Engineer- Compute & Virtualization, is part of the Server & Cloud Infrastructure Platform Global IDS IT Team, focused on the design, build and delivery of virtualized on-premise and cloud compute environments, supporting multiple concurrent initiatives, maintaining and optimizing existing hosting solutions, and coaching and mentoring junior team member.
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Technical Delivery: Subject Matter Expert for Virtualization solutions both on-premise and cloud based, able to define server deployment standards and optimize our design and build processes. Act as level 3 escalation support for operational issues when needed, and partner with our sustainment teams to ensure our environments stay healthy and updated.
Customer Focused Approach: Contribute to the compute delivery of multiple projects across all regions and center IT teams, able to understand requirements and proposed effective hosting solutions to enable successful application implementations always following our existing change control processes.
Global Strategic Partnerships: Developing strong partnerships with Regional Infrastructure counterparts to establish Virtualization and Compute standards for processes and technologies used at Kellogg worldwide. Challenging the status quo and bringing ideas to the table to deliver improvements to our Infrastructure Hosting environments and establish effective communication with all our regional customers and peers.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
- High School Diploma or GED and 10+ years of related experience
- Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining VMWare Virtual solutions.
- AWS or Azure cloud Hosting solutions and Wintel or Linux based server deployment and administration experience.
- Team player able to drive results independently and bring ideas forward to deliver value to Kellogg.
- Ability to work across functional silos and promote adoption of new tools and processes across the Infrastructure environment.
- Able to balance multiple concurrent priorities and create business cases to justify implementation of new processes and technologies.
- Must be a confident, self-starter, self-motivated leader who enjoys the challenges of a high paced environment and the coaching and mentoring of highly technical resources to build a successful team.
