Title:  Environmental Health & Safety Specialist


As an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (2nd shift), you will support each employee’s need to flourish and thrive at one of Kellogg Company’s state-of-the-art production facilities.   • Keeping Thorough Records – Manage, maintain and audit employee health records. You’ll ensure continuity of care, employee confidentiality and feedback to management. We’ll count on you to ensure compliance with government regulations, company policy and applicable standards of professional practice and codes of ethics. You’ll aim for excellence every day!
  • Providing Employee Care – Deliver individual counseling sessions to employees on health maintenance, health screening results and health promotion activities. You’ll offer on-site emergency care to employees within the guidelines of written medical orders. Your robust health and safety background will help you expertly manage the chronic health care of employees within the guidelines of written medical orders, health assessments and referrals.
  • Driving Key Programs – Coordinate and maintain plant environmental health, safety and wellness programs. You’ll masterfully oversee medical management, employee health and productivity programs, workers compensation reporting and case coordination, OSHA reporting and recordkeeping, employee assistance programs, family medical leave and short- and long-term disability case management, among other programs.
  • Working Together for Quality and Safety – Collaborate with the human resources and labor relations teams on issues impacting employee performance, including medical, health and disability issues. You’ll also support the environmental health and safety manager in administering environmental, health, and safety programs and initiatives as assigned.   • Bachelor’s degree in a medical, occupational health or environmental sciences discipline or a related area
  • We’re looking for someone with 5+ years experience with health and safety in a manufacturing setting!
  • Working knowledge of safety and environmental regulations such as:
    • EPA programs
      • Waste Management
      • Water conservation
    • EHS Training
      • Industrial Hygiene sampling
    • Performing EHS facility inspections
    • Metrics reporting
    • Incident investigations
    • Performing EHS Assessments
  • Strong technical abilities with demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office

Bonus Points:

  • ASP or CSP certification
  • CHMM or QEP certification
  • Title V air permitting experience
  • EMT or advanced medical certification
  • Task completion oriented
  • Emergency Responder (HAZWOPER trained)
  • Working knowledge of SAP, OSHA and workers compensation
