An extremely exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Kellogg Legal Department as a Legal Director for the France and Benelux Business. 


We are looking for someone to join our team of passionate, proactive, and highly motivated individuals. We are looking for an individual who demonstrates technical brilliance, commercial acumen and a true passion for our iconic global brands. Our lawyers play a key role in the business ensuring legal compliance whilst having a real seat at the table with regard to commercial decisions. We are looking for someone who can fulfil the role of a technically excellent lawyer along with the ability to make a real commercial impact for the organisation, as well as drive day-to-day business matters with a focus on commercial contracts, competition law, advertising and food law, and dispute resolution.


The role is based in our Noisy-Le-Grand office. You will be reporting directly to the General Counsel – Europe.




In your role as Legal Director France Benelux, you will contribute to the success of the Kellogg business by:

  • Being responsible for developing and delivering the France-Benelux legal strategy, based on business objectives, legal assessments, and the regulatory and commercial landscape;
  • Playing a pivotal role in commercial contract negotiations with retailers;
  • Being responsible for drafting and advising on France-Benelux contracts and reviewing and approving France-Benelux advertising and claims;
  • Keeping up to date on best practice and industry trends and partnering with peers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to pro-actively evolve our practices;
  • Developing and providing training to the France-Benelux business in a variety of areas, including competition law, sales agreements, and compliance;
  • Leading the France-Benelux crisis management team, and manages matters including business interruption events, food safety and quality incidents, and matters potential impacting the reputation of the Company;
  • Being people manager for 1 direct report, responsible for their professional growth, capability development, team engagement, and work flow management;
  • Having budget responsibility for the France-Benelux annual legal professional services budget;
  • Leading and delivering on key France-Benelux projects, including all contractual aspects of the projects, issue-spotting, advice and counsel on legal impact of decision, and managing legal fees project budget.

  • A commercial lawyer with at least 6 years of experience, with at least 3 of those years at a multi-national company.
  • Law degree and current certification to practice law.
  • Experience working with French retailers and customers, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Experience with French employment law
  • Experience in advertising and media law, and experience advising big brands.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced demanding legal environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (including drafting and negotiating) and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven to develop legal capabilities and understand the Kellogg business.
  • Personal presence and professional ability to take ownership of projects as an individual contributor be confident and firm with legal positions.


  • Experience with fast moving consumer goods or with a multi-national food company.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and strong relationship development skills.
  • The ability to communicate with all levels of the business and influence key stakeholders.
  • The ability to work cross functionally and across all levels.
  • True team player with a down to earth manner who drives to contribute to the success of the team and the organisation. 
  • Technical excellence in your understanding and communication of the law.
  • Competition law experience.
  • Experience of dealing with senior directors.
