Title:  Centre of Excellence Technician

Our colleagues in the Research & Development teams are looking for a new Centre of Excellence Technician.

As we’re putting our hearts and souls into the future of food we’ll be looking at you to show us how you can support food and packaging innovation and manage ingredient and project inventory, including the making of samples and shipments. We will be looking at you to demonstrate high standards of equipment and ingredient control to maintain the quality and food safety standard requirements for the department, as well as actively building skills on existing and new equipment to support the level of service we can offer to the R&D function.


By taking an active role in the team to support the development and activities of the R&D function, you will be supporting the Food and Packaging Designers on projects for plant & pilot plant trials and development activities.
You will be key in procuring materials and ingredients from suppliers to ensure project timelines are met, managing and continuously improving the raw materials and finished food storage facility and associated systems, supporting the training programme for pilot plant usage including food hygiene, HACCP and processing equipment. You will own GMP and ensure cleaning and hygiene programmes are carried out, support all aspects of safety in the Centre of Excellence, including audits and maintaining safety standards to an appropriate level, liaising with our courier service providers, ensuring Centre of Excellence is maintained to an appropriate standard and supporting the Food and Packaging Technology teams by raising Purchase Orders for product trials through our online system. 


•    You will also be able to demonstrate effective teamwork and communications skills and the ability to promote good relationships with appropriate aspects of the business.
•    PC skills with knowledge of procurement. 
•    Experience interfacing with service providers such as couriers is preferred.
•    Appropriate relevant experience within a food pilot plant or food manufacturing environment would be an advantage
•    FLT and Ped-op licence holder is preferred.
