Title:  Culinary Centre Assistant

ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Overall ownership of the upkeep of the Culinary Centre which includes:

    • Managing inventory of raw material / ingredients in accordance with our SOPs (Log in, preparation, storage, safe disposal)
    • Managing the day-to-day stock such as teabags / coffee / paper towels /water fountains / fridge items
    • Maintain a clean, safe, work environment. Follow guidelines set out for good housekeeping, GMPs and Safety. Daily tasks include:
      • Daily checks on the bins /removing rubbish /replacing bin bags
      • Daily checks on the overall appearance of the centre – hoovering and mopping floor, cleaning worktops, using the dishwasher to clean any used cups etc.
      • Washing any dirty tea towels and aprons
    • Reporting any issues such as no hot water / broken equipment / IT equipment and liaising with relevant departments for repairs /fixes
    • Changing the layout of the culinary centre to suit different activities both culinary and non-culinary events – re-arranging furniture, moving equipment etc.

Be the owner and manage the Culinary Centre calendar of events – proficient on a computer and systems

    • Keeping the calendar up to date
    • Liaising with the Culinary Business partner of events and what support is required such as booking in visitors / prepping food and areas for the event /support on the events
    • Liaising with other departments who want to book out the Culinary Centre
    • Supporting the Culinary Business partner on the documentation required for the Culinary Centre such as Ways of Working / HACCP plans / SOP’s etc.
    • Order sensory lab supplies

 

    • As part of the Centre of Excellence team, supporting the team in the Pilot Plant when not required in the Culinary Centre

This will include:

      • Ordering of raw materials / support Pilot Plant trials / shipments
      • Support the preparation and execution of sensory tests at the sensory lab
      • Supporting co-creation and rapid prototyping activities

  • Working in the Centre of Excellence you will be able to demonstrate effective teamwork and communications skills and the ability to promote good relationships with appropriate aspects of the business.
  • Good organisational skills will be key to the success of this role. We need someone who can prepare, set and support culinary events in the Centre of Excellence’s new state of the art Culinary Centre.
  • We are looking for someone with flare who can manage, run, maintain our new centre with efficiency at a 5 star standard to delight and impress at all levels of business.
  • Experience working/managing events, hotel or business at similar levels may be advantageous.
  • Background in the food industry, stock control or operating process equipment are all skills that would support the successful candidate.
