Title:  European Statutory Reporting Accountant


European Statutory Reporting Accountant – 12 Month FTC

Reporting to European Statutory Reporting Manager, Media City, Manchester

Our colleagues in the Finance team are looking for a new European Statutory Reporting Accountant.

As we’re putting our hearts and souls into the future of food we’ll be looking to you to own the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements for a portfolio of Kellogg entities  and to demonstrate both strong technical accounting skills and the ability to consistently manage to a high standard of quality a number of different priorities while working to strict deadlines.   


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • managing the preparation of statutory financial statements
  • managing the relationships with third party providers and auditors
  • ensuring that all financial statements and local filing obligations are prepared accurately and on time

You will be pro-active in identifying and resolving issues, involving collaboration across functions and teams within Kellogg and externally.

You will have a keen focus on building strong relationships with both group and local audit teams, ensuring timely preparation of audit deliverables and issue resolution.

You will be tasked with reviewing local financial statements and using your analytical skills to challenge variances, understanding root cause analysis and presenting an overview to the Directors.

Being a strong communicator, you will act as the key point of contact across the business to provide interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards or complex areas of accounting.

You will demonstrate a good understanding of the statutory adjustments under local GAAP compared to US GAAP.

You will take ownership of ensuring final financial statements are approved by relevant Directors and filed according to local legislation.

You will also take the lead in ad-hoc tasks and accounting projects as required.


  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) from a practice background, preferably top 10 
  • Education – BA/BSC Hons Degree
  • Experience of UK GAAP and US GAAP 
  • Up to date technical skills – IFRS / FRS 102
  • Experience of US multi-nationals beneficial
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Proven communication, negotiation and influencing skills in working with multiple stakeholders both internal and external
  • Established record in managing multiple and competing priorities
  • Project planning and management skills
