Title:  Production Specialist - Hourly


As a Plant Operations Specialist, you will maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in San Jose, where the definition of “teamwork” holds true!   • Supporting the Production Line – Responsible for overseeing and assigning the activities of the workforce for assigned area/shift in the execution of production.  May provide input to supervisor regarding alternate work schedules and employee performance deficiencies.  Review completed work for quality compliance (1st point of contact).
  • Center Line/Standard Operating Condition Checks – Ensure all centerline and standard operating conditions are checked per frequency. If gaps arise, ensure a mitigation action is captured and escalated for support immediately. In addition, will be executing AM tasks per the normal AM frequency. You will also actively support the plants 5’s initiatives.
  • Supporting Operations Supervisor – ensuring adherence to all standard work processes (including KWS processes), routing absence requests to the supervisor, backup, or Operations Manager for review and approval, updating DPR every two hours, and assisting with policy audits (5S, breaks, safety).
    • Serve as Leader in the problem-solving process to resolve and/or mitigate operational gaps. Ensure gaps are addressed by following the established escalation process.
    • Train other employees are required and as instructed by a supervisor or member of management.
    • Required to lead the Tier 2 Shift Planning meeting and participate in shift pass-down meetings at 5 (towards the end of shift). Communicate with shift leads to ensure proper communication between processing and packaging, safety, quality issues, staffing, equipment issues, assuring bulk policy is maintained.
  • Prioritizing Safety First – Keep our facility safe to prevent problems and ensure employees feel comfortable at all times. Having a “safety first” attitude is important at Kellogg Company since people safety and food safety are two of our values.





  • Demonstrate knowledge of managing safety and/or quality programs & processes
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing requests while maintaining a culture of accountability and execution
  • Must be able to complete a performance evaluation for all respective processing or packaging machinery and processes within 90 days of assuming the role.
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to identify problems and develop solutions via the Kellogg's escalation process.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to work under pressure and manage priorities appropriately.
  • High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to lead, influence, and motivate others.
  • Ability to comprehend and learn computer-based system


Bonus Points:

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry
  • Strong technical aptitude along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with SAP software
  • Bachelor’s degree and significant related experience
  • Sense of humor
