As Category Manager, Wholesome Snacks and Salty Snacks you’re responsible for developing the Snack category and customer strategy for the Australian business, whilst also being accountable for the creation, delivery, and execution of the 5P’s across customers and channels.  Given the scale of the Wholesome Snacks and Salty Snacks aisles and our presence within it, this is an opportunity that will elevate your career.  Our retailers are keen to partner with us to drive growth in the categories and this role plays a key part in that thought and strategic leadership. 

The role encompasses long term strategic focus along with the day-to-day of a commercial category role and the development of two direct reports. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generate channel, category, and shopper insights in order to create a strategy that drives the activities required for growth in our Wholesome Snacks and Salty Snacks business
  • Aligning our Customer and Kellogg category visions, growth drivers, strategies to win, objectives and success metrics (volume, $, share and profit) 
  • Creating a rolling 18-month category strategy and plan, utilising shopper, category and consumer insights 
  • Managing and recommending range and space in store by leading the range review process across all portfolios. 
  • Leading the range reviews and planning day in partnership with the National Business Manager and relevant stakeholders, externalising strategic direction on range reviews and planning days
  • Management of Category-related strategic projects
  • Lead commercial innovation
  • Lead and develop two direct reports  


This is a pivotal and high-profile role in our business.  To get the balance right, we’re looking for a highly Commercial Category Manager from the FMCG industry, someone who has a background in Sales and understands the mechanics behind price, but also extensive experience within Category, thinking strategically and driving category thought leadership to realise future growth ambitions. Your communication and presentation skills will be second to none with the ability to present cases persuasively.  Someone who can build and sustain strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders to ensure we’re creating win/win outcomes.
