Title:  Electrical & Controls Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineer in our iconic Manufacturing plant based in Botany.  Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work across a range of projects that range from feasibility studies to enhancements to existing equipment. Working Monday – Friday you will be required to flex between a couple of shifts being 7am – 7pm or 7pm – 7am. 


Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and overseeing the planning, implementation of assigned projects to within budget and timeframe
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs and scope of works for Electrical and Instrumentation system upgrades, modifications and new installations.
  • Design and develop drawings for Electrical, Control and Instrumentation system ensuring the design meets all relevant Australian Standards
  • Work closely with all site maintenance personnel on Control and Instrumentation system issues supporting the Electrical Supervisor on day to day responsibilities. 
  • Application of appropriate technology to optimise manufacturing process control systems and improve productivity with a cost reduction focus
  • Liaise with relevant statutory authorities to ensure the plant operation and project implementation meets regulatory requirements 


Skills, experience & attributes sought:

  • Degree or Diploma qualified in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering – mandatory 
  • An unrestricted NSW Electrical Licence - mandatory
  • A strong track record in a similar role within Food & Beverage production and packaging environment 
  • Previous experience with Allen Bradley and Modicon PLC’s or similar:-
  • High level of proficiency in: 
  • HV (UP TO 11KV) & LV Distribution Systems 
  • VSD’s, soft starters
  • Authorised to conduct HV switching 
  • Plant lighting
  • Historian Software (OSI-PI)
  • Microsoft SQL Servers
  • Instrumentation – Pressure, Level, Flow, Temperature, Control system or dual implementation
  • AS4024 (Safety of Machinery)
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal & written
  • Team player who can build and maintain strong working relationships   
  • A strong ability to manage competing priorities and make judgements in complex situations
  • Experience with Root Cause analysis
