Title:  Assistant Finance Manager - Sales & Marketing

Due to an internal promotion we are seeking an experienced Assistant Finance Manager – Sales & Marketing to join our Finance Team.  Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance you will partner closely with the engine room of our Commercial operation – our Sales and Marketing teams!  You will provide support and guidance to ongoing P&L visibility, analysis and decision support as well as key inputs for Marketing for our financial submissions, forecasting and corporate strategic plans.

 

FMCG is a fast-moving industry and this role is at the core, however, they don’t call themselves the fun-ance team for no reason – they have some fun along the way!   

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support daily commercial decision making with Sales and marketing groups with focus on business plans, trade spend analysis, brand P&L analysis, SKU rationalization initiatives, profitability analysis on various initiatives, and ad hoc projects.
  • Facilitate the monthly closing process, ensuring the accuracy and timely close of NSV for the ANZ business.
  • Guide and assist Finance Analyst - Sales in month-end reporting, variance analysis and commentary including regional reporting. 
  • Provide detailed commentary during monthly performance reviews covering breakfast portfolio. 
  • Review and evaluate pricing initiatives, alternative trade-spend strategies and investment opportunities.
  • Work closely with Marketing Director and Marketing team and provide financial and commercial support during annual budget planning process.
  • Partner Sales & Marketing execution teams throughout all planning & reporting cycles and be an active member with regular participation in and contribution towards leadership team meetings.
  • Overview and control of total Sales, Marketing and Insights team overheads
  • Ensure compliance within accounting standards regarding all trade accruals and be a key contact for Auditors and SOX testing

 

Skills, experience & attributes sought:
We’re looking for an individual who is either CPA, CA or CIMA qualified with previous experience in a FP&A or Commercial Finance role – ideally from within the FMCG industry.  With strong business partnership skills you will also have strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to influence at all levels.  Having previously partnered with a Sales, Marketing or Supply Chain operations you will understand the dynamics of these environments.  Naturally with a strong background in Finance you will have advanced Excel skills, experience with SAP and trade management systems is ideal.
