Our Sales Team works across the major grocery outlets to drive the sales and market share of our breakfast cereals and snacks brands. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance the role of Senior Finance Analyst has arisen due to an internal promotion. The role works closely with our sales team, providing them with valuable financial insights & analysis to support them in achieving their goals and targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- In partnership with the Head of Commercial Finance, support daily commercial decision making with the Sales group with a focus on business plans, trade spend analysis, SKU rationalisation initiatives, profitability analysis on various initiatives and any ad-hoc projects
- Facilitate the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy and timely close of net sales for the ANZ business
- Lead the weekly sales call from a Finance perspective to identify potential risks with the team and work through mitigation plans to deliver commitment to the business.
- Assist Finance Analyst with month-end reporting, variance analysis and commentary for regional reporting
- Participate and present in monthly demand review and gap meeting cycles to understand the ANZ sales forecast across the portfolio, identify risk and opportunities along with gap closures to mitigate any impacts the P&L.
- Provide financial guidance and support to the Sales director and the customer teams during annual budget planning & customer target setting process including value-added analysis for the broader sales team.
- Review and evaluate pricing initiatives, alternative trade-spend strategies and investment opportunities
- Work closely with Sales team to provide financial and commercial support during the annual budget planning process
- Overview and control of Sales team overhead spend within annual budget and meeting their financial challenges as well as providing insight and reporting to manage their spend
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards regarding all trade accruals and be a key contact for Auditors & SOX testing
Skills, experience & attributes sought:
- Business degree in Accounting, coupled with either CA, CPA or CIMA qualifications
- To excel in this role you will need strong communication, negotiation & influencing skills
- Strong ability to build relationships and partner with the business to drive results
- Previous experience in a commercial finance/sales partnering, ideally from an FMCG environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment – often with competing priorities so being able to manage them all effectively
- Experience with SAP is advantageous, along with Microsoft office including Excel
